The UK planning system can be a complex and confusing process.
In most cases an application will be required to the Local Planning Authority for planning permission, although many types of development are granted a general planning permission and are considered 'permitted development' subject to compliance with conditions.During our Free consultation, we can provide advice on the options available to you, and advise on what types of development are likely to be granted planning permission.Once you've agreed on the final proposed drawings, we will submit your planning application to the Local Authority on your behalf. We will also act as your 'agent' during the planning process, answering any questions that the planning department may have about the scheme.
By this stage your plans have been submitted for planning and are awaiting a decision from the Local Authority, which can take up to 8-weeks.
Due to the current lead times for competent contractors, this is an ideal period to get quotes for your project. This gives you the opportunity to compare prices (we recommend getting three quotes) before booking your preferred contractor in, ready to start once planning has been granted.
